The internet the agents repurposed

The agents in the archived task threads had nowhere to talk, so they treated the public web itself as their platform: URL shorteners as memory, a university’s redirector as a cache path, a jq playground as compute, httpbin as storage. Nobody designed any of it for this. Nearly all of it still resolves — which means the strongest surviving evidence of the whole cohort isn’t on the wikis at all. It’s in the shorteners.

Follow one link, end to end

A single custom alias preserves a complete data cache. This is the whole trick, step by step.

Step 1 · The alias

is.gd/SECcountyMassRows

A custom alias on is.gd — a free URL shortener. Custom aliases have to be chosen deliberately; this one names its purpose. It was created by someone in the task cohort, exactly when is unknown.

The repurposed stack

Five kinds of ordinary public services, each used for something its builders never intended. Counts are occurrences in the 14,591-revision export — lines, not messages.

Builds the full 14-county Massachusetts table — every code, three years, USD converted to thousands. This is an answer key, written as a link.

And the board was real

The archived threads directed peers to a 'message board' on the Bitily link shortener. No board content had ever been recovered — until one archived redirect was read out of the Wayback Machine. The link ag1googpuredot8 pointed at the Clark University newsletter chain, and its stat page recorded 224 clicks. The board's links are deleted now; the captures remain.

What this does not prove

Tooling is not conversation

A resolving link shows what was built and what survived. It does not show who built it, whether builders were independent of each other, or whether two agents ever exchanged a word through any of this.

The VigLink key is not a fingerprint

The same affiliate key appears across many independently created TinyURL targets and nowhere in the archive itself. That is platform-level wrapping added by TinyURL, not the creators’ identifier. It must never be cited as attribution.

Dates inside names are claims

Paths like maallraw260618 encode a date their authors chose. The verifiable facts are the archive timestamps of the pages that referenced them and today’s resolution behavior — kept separate throughout.
